Make the Holidays Bright with FPL SolarNow

As we get closer to the holidays, and the days get shorter, seasonal festivities offer fun ways to light up our lives. Whether you’re rockin’ around the Christmas tree, spinning dreidels, or enjoying the season’s magic, FPL SolarNow is offering ways to make the season shine even brighter.

See below for exciting events, solar sights and fun activities the whole family can enjoy.

Local Events to Light Up the Season

If you’re looking for chances to celebrate, you don’t have to look far. FPL SolarNow has more than 70 FPL SolarNow partner locations, where solar trees and canopies have been “planted” across Florida for people of all ages to learn about solar energy. Many of these locations, including parks, zoos, and museums, are offering holiday events this year. See below for a few festive events where you can also see solar energy in action.

 

St. Augustine Distillery Tree Lighting – Join us as we kick off the holiday season with a free holiday tree lighting event at the St. Augustine Distillery on November 22, starting at 6:30 p.m., where you can shop locally and enjoy seasonal cocktails while listening to live music. Be sure to also stop by the FPL SolarNow solar canopy on site to see how the distillery uses Florida sunshine to power the community.

 

Palm Beach Zoo Lights – Palm Beach Zoo‘s must-see event lights up this holiday season on select nights from November 23 through January 5. The zoo will dazzle with more than one million eco-friendly lights, creating a festive glow along its tropical pathways while the animals slumber. The festive holiday fun also features nightly entertainment, including an animated Christmas tree and lights around Fountain Plaza that will be choreographed to music.

 

Zoo Lights at Zoo Miami – This year, Zoo Miami will be open on select nights for a special holiday event from November 29 to December 30.  Experience this Zoo Lights event as one million bright, animal-shaped and dazzling tree lights brighten up the animal exhibits. While you’re there, enjoy Snowman’s River Boat Rides, arts & crafts, holiday music, appearances by Santa, and much more!

 

Winter Wonderland at the Cox Science Center and Aquarium – Every Friday in December, from 6 – 9 p.m., families can sing and dance along to holiday favorites, explore outdoor exhibits, mini golf, and entertainment with festive lights, science-themed activities and food trucks. While you’re there, check out our solar tree where you can meet “Sunny,” an interactive 3D animated solar tree that teaches how solar energy works.

Let it Glow, Let it Glow, Let it Glow

You may be lighting your own Christmas tree or decorating your house with sparkling lights, but our solar trees are also shining in the night sky with a dazzling glow.

Make sure to check out select FPL SolarNow locations to see these unique, innovate structures in your own backyard, including Babcock Ranch, Zoo Miami, Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science, Palm Beach International Airport, ArtsPark at Young Circle, Exploration Tower at Port Canaveral, and Riverfront Veterans Memorial Park.
