Looking to beat the heat this summer? With the temperatures rising into the 90s, there are plenty of ways to stay cool while enjoying the outdoors.

Several of FPL SolarNow’s 70+ partner locations across the state offer water play areas, like splash pads, pools and slides, for families looking to cool down! During your visit, stop by our solar trees and canopies to learn about the importance of clean energy. These innovative structures provide shade – a major bonus during a hot day – and harness the power of the sun while generating emissions-free energy that benefits the community.

Across Florida, zoos, museums and parks have been transformed into living classrooms where you can see solar energy up close – making it a fun experience to continue learning year-round now that school is out.

The official start of summer also marks an important time of year for solar energy. With more potential hours of sunlight, there’s no better season to harness the power of solar energy.

Splish, Splash and Slide into Summer!

The Palm Beach Zoo Play Fountain is one of the most-loved attractions in South Florida. Seating is provided for those who wish to relax and watch as children frolic in the refreshing water jets.

Zoo Miami’s several water-play areas are guaranteed to cool you down during your adventure. The biggest and best is the Ocean Voyage play area of Playworld Playground, where kids can splash around a whale tail waterfall spouting fountain and overflowing buckets of water.

At Brevard Zoo, children of all ages are invited to cool off in up to 18 inches of water in the Indian River Play Lagoon. This play space includes a “dump tank” and mangrove forest. There is also a water area created especially for younger guests, which features shallower water and a bubbling manatee sculpture.

The Barracuda Bay Aquatic Complex is fun for the whole family and a great place to cool off during the hot summer days. Enjoy water slides, fountains and an interactive activity pool.

The City of Palm Beach Gardens Aquatic Complex offers plenty of fun in the sun. Swim laps, enjoy water aerobics, test your skills on the diving board or just enjoy the water slides, splash playground and splash pad.

The pride of the Sebastian community, picturesque Riverview Park sits on the shores of the Indian River. Stop by our solar canopy to cool off in the shade while you take in views of the river and oak trees as the kids play in the splash pad.
