The Holidays are Shining Bright with FPL SolarNow

As the year comes to a close, the holiday season is in full swing. It’s the time to generate some festive vibes and recharge before the New Year. To keep the spirits and the energy up this month, here are a few fun holiday events, hosted by our SolarNow partner locations, that offer festivities for the whole family.

See our Solar Trees in a New Light

You may not have known this about our special solar installations, but many solar trees have more than just the capacity to generate zero-emissions electricity – they also have the ability to light up in cheerful colors! And this season, two partner locations in particular are shining bright with blue, red and green lights on their FPL SolarNow trees.

So, when you’re done decking your own halls, stop by Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science in Miami or Palm Beach International Airport during the evening throughout December to get a glimpse of these innovative solar structures up close as they utilize the world’s most important source of energy while showing off their holiday spirit.

‘Tis the Season to Celebrate Solar Energy

While it may be nice to stay inside while cuddled up with loved ones this winter, there’s no greater joy than to get outside, see the lights and celebrate all that the holidays have to offer. Many of your favorite local attractions may be putting on spectacular festivities this season that you won’t want to miss. Below are a few events featured at our partner locations this season:

Palm Beach Zoo Lights

Palm Beach Zoo’s must-see illuminating event lights up this holiday season on select nights until to January 7. While the animals slumber, the Zoo will shine bright with more than one million eco-friendly lights, creating a festive glow along its tropical pathways. The holiday fun also features nightly entertainment with an animated Christmas tree and lights around Fountain Plaza choreographed to music. Zoo Lights at Zoo Miami

Zoo Miami will be open at night for a special holiday event with one million dazzling, animal-shaped décor and tree lights. Experience Zoo Lights on select nights through December 30. Enjoy Snowman’s River Boat Rides, arts & crafts, holiday music, appearances by Santa, and much more! Don’t forget to stop by the solar pavilion to get up close with solar energy and learn more about how this emission-free energy is created. Winter Wonderland at the Cox Science Center and Aquarium

On December 15 and 22, bring your family to the Cox Science Center and Aquarium to sing and dance along to holiday favorites, explore outdoor exhibits, mini golf, and entertainment with interesting lights, science-themed activities and food trucks. While you’re there, check out our solar tree to meet “Sunny,” an interactive 3D animated solar tree that teaches you how solar energy works.
