As we enter summer, many Floridians are planning exciting trips across the Sunshine State. An easy way to do this while supporting clean energy is to visit one of FPL SolarNow’s 70+ partner locations across Florida.

From zoos to museums, nature parks to water parks, these local attractions offer the chance to get out of the house, experience something new and see solar energy in action as it powers our communities with low-cost, emissions-free energy.

Read more below to learn about several partner locations that offer unique getaways the whole family can enjoy.

Good, Clean Fun

There are many options for Floridians looking to beat the heat during the sunniest of seasons. For example, those near Palm Beach County can make a splash at the Barracuda Bay Aquatic Complex, which offers water slides, fountains and solar trees that can provide shade before jumping back in the pool. Those on the Space Coast can visit Pelican Beach Park to take advantage of its beachside playgrounds and volleyball courts after parking under a solar canopy. And in the heart of Southwest Florida, Laishley Park offers locals the chance to enjoy an interactive splash pad, 400-foot fishing pier and several solar installations to rest beneath after all the fun.

If you’re more of a nature-lover, then there are also several opportunities to enjoy it this summer across Florida. Just outside Tampa, there is the Palmetto Estuary Preserve, a hidden gem that serves as a tranquil haven for native birds and creates clean energy for the community with its solar canopy. While near Daytona Beach, Reed Canal Park offers paved hiking trails along the waterfront and eye-catching solar trees where you can take a break and charge your phone. But if your definition of being in nature is being on the water, Oceanfront Park in Boynton Beach gives the chance for water activities like boating and sport fishing, while featuring multi-functional solar arrays across this premier park by the sea.

South Daytona’s Reed Canal Park

One way to have convenient access to the exciting FPL SolarNow partner locations South Florida offers is to visit the local Brightline train stations. With each having their own solar trees on site, these stations are also close to other attractions nearby. For instance, the Brightline Fort Lauderdale station is within walking distance of Museum of Discovery and Science, while the Brightline West Palm Beach station is close to both Cox Science Center and the Palm Beach Zoo. Not only can you learn about the wonders of science and wild animals, you can also learn more about how solar energy works by visiting the solar installations at each of these sites.
