100 FPL Solar Trees are Digging Roots in our Communities

FPL SolarNow

We’re excited to share a major milestone with our fellow SolarNow participants, partners and communities.

The 100th FPL SolarNow solar tree has been installed at Brightline’s West Palm Beach station, located just a few blocks from the city’s booming downtown area.

The distinctive solar trees stand up to 24 feet tall and provide nearly 200 square feet of shade.  Some trees, like those at the Brightline stations, also serve as mobile device charging stations – perfect for when you need a quick charge. The trees, along with other FPL SolarNow installations – solar parking canopies and walkways, are using our state’s very own sunshine to generate clean emissions-free energy that goes to the grid and provides an opportunity for the community to see solar up close – energizing the way we live.

To celebrate the major milestone, FPL and Brightline hosted a collaborative event at the West Palm Beach train station. Participants and friends were invited to join a train ride down to Miami for a thank you reception.

Three-time NBA champion Udonis Haslem joined SolarNow participants to celebrate the unveiling of the 100th solar tree.

Poised to reinvent train travel in the United States, Brightline, which is now part of the Virgin Group, is an express inter-city passenger rail service that provides fast, efficient, hospitality-driven transportation. Brightline currently connects Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, providing customers with an eco-friendly and smarter way to travel.

SolarNow will soon have installations at each of the Brightline stations, so you can experience the magic of emissions-free energy when you ride the train. As part of SolarNow’s partnership with Brightline, SolarNow participants can enjoy 30% off SMART business class and 10% off SELECT first class through September 2020. See our Events page for more information on how to take advantage of these savings!

And now, with the installation of the 100th solar tree, there are a total of  200 FPL SolarNow solar arrays across the state. Together, we are transforming the way we live.

We Thank You!
